Anyone please offer very concrete instructions on how to take temp of my Yorkie. This is first time no one is around to do it for me - no one else around at moment and not supposed to drive to vet unless emergency (am recovering from day surgery). About 5+ hours ago, Liberty vomited - a lot of watery stuff, clear, and with a lot of very small blood spots. Scaring the S@$% out of me (sorry for language). No vomiting since then. He is alert, very responsive & wanting to follow me around (I'm making him stay in his bed or my lap mostly). Respiration fine, eyes clear. Normally doesn't eat this early (not for 2-3 more hours, even when offered this early). His vet says to take his temp. Not sure how. Stupid questions - can use digital? How far to insert? Can use a probe cover? Dr. H says to call him back ASAP if over 101.5 and then I'll just have to taxi over. Instructions welcome. Thanks.

Also, he said to offer bland chicken breast or turkey. Anything else?
