Don't worry. It's a matter of time. We live in a two story house, and when our pup was downstairs, he used to have no clue to get back to his designated pee spot upstairs to do his business so he would just hold it and eventually had an accident. I used to have to constantly monitoring him and brought him back to his spot as soon as I see signs, then he just walk straight to the pad. Even now at 9 months he still doesn't know to use a pad anywhere else but his one true spot upstairs. Lol but thanks god when we can't take him out, he knows to go back to his spot now even when he is let roaming the house so I always lay a pee pad down for him.
Now to control accidents, you should not let your pup roam the house. He should be in his pen, and let out for about 30 mins each, a few times a day. Don't give him a chance to mark your house, it will be a lot harder to train him if you let him mark the house. Know his routine is key. It's easier when you know at what time he needs to go to prevent accidents. Hope all is going great!!! |
