I am thinking about getting another Yorkie as a companion for my 4yo female. My Yorkie is a very needy, whiny girl and I am hoping that by getting her a friend this will help curb her loneliness.

She doesn't play with other dogs, and doesn't care for children. She does however, play with a cat that we house sat for a few months when she was a pup.

I am wondering if anyone can give me advice on bringing another pet into the home and thoughts on whether this will help my girl be less needy and whiny.
