There is no reason why you couldn't skip the X-rays and try Metacam for 2 weeks. The X-rays will not show an ACL tear and your vet should be capable of assessing her properly. If needed after 2 weeks of Metacam and crate rest a board certified Orthopedic vet would be your next step. Good luck
