Upon further inspection, Canna-Pet is not using medical marijuana, they are using CBD industrial hemp, which is legal, high quality, and NOT psychoactive. I would be willing to try it under veterinary supervision if my dog had cancer, seizures, or had chronic pain issues.
I've heard of its use on humans for years and think those that actually need is medicinally should be able to have it. But have the medicinal properties of cannabinoids been used successfully on dogs long-term and are there any lasting effects to the brain or organs to consider vs. other medications that might provide the same benefit? I've never heard of their use on dogs before and only recently learned that the cannabis humans mostly use is toxic to dogs. What history does this drug have with the canine species?
