Treats and confinement are the best ways to successfully potty train a Yorkie. When they do it in the right place, treat and major praise. When they do it in the wrong place, ignore it and clean it up. We take 3 steps forward and 1 step back. When Ali makes a mistake (few at 8 months) we clean the carpet and start at square 1.
