We do cool down in the evenings to high 70s to low 80s by sunrise, but the humidity gets way worse at night. The dewpoints will creep up to about 77-82, which sucks with a capital S. Our humidity gives almost complete cloud coverage most summer nights, so we don't get the radiational cooling that makes LA nights so cool; the heat gets trapped in the low clouds and comes right back instead of escaping off into space.
