This is an example of a silky coated yorkie with green eye shine. This is not my yorkie but she is a champion and an excellent representative of the breed.
I have found that the eye shine works well in determining the type of coat. green and blueish green usually mean silky coats. Gold shine is usually a modified silk and red or orange shine usually means cottony coat. It is not 100% accurate but it has always worked for me.
