There are other things that can influence the eye shine in a photo. One of the photographers here on YT explained, but I do not remember the details. Something about the type of flash and other types of lighting that may be present in the room. That would explain why my photos sometimes come out with blue/green eyes, sometimes gold/red, and sometimes one of each
