I got my pup when he was 8 weeks old and he almost never barked (but because he did a few times - I knew he knew how). He's about 6 months old now, and he has never turned into much of a barker...but does occasionally.
I'm sure some Yorkies just bark more than others. But, also the environment they are in certainly must affect the amount they bark. I live alone with a very quiet Bichon (who barks very little), and I don't think my little Yorkie has a lot to bark about. I'll bet if I had more people living here and children running in and out and playing - he'd join right in and bark a lot more than he does now.
Don't worry - you may just have a more laid back quiet little Yorkie than some people have.

**** Why would breeders "debark" little puppies. It is a surgery they'd have to pay for - and they aren't keeping the puppies so why would their barking bother them -- and most people wouldn't want this done in the first place.
I can't imagine a breeder doing this for no good reason......
