I used to buy corn by the bushel....I was told to "blanche" it, which involves putting it in boiling water for a few minutes...then I had an aunt tell me to just put several ears for family meal, in a zip lock bag, forget blanching, and freeze it! Worked great! Saved a WHOLE bunch of time! And now that I have my Food Saver, I put 5-8 unshucked cobs in a bag, seal it air tight, and toss it in the freezer, where that corn lasts easily for over a year! |
