The place I take them to requires you have all the shots updated and will do a "interview". Unless there's some aggression issue (or something like it), they'll place the dog according to their temperment. There's always someone in the room to watch over them.
Few things I really like about this particular daycare is that they have live webcam where you can watch whenever you want to check on them. (Except for 12-2. It's their nap time) They also have "birthday parties" every month where they provide some goodies for the dogs, take pictures and posts them on their website for you to look at.
It's bit more expensive then some of the other daycares I've looked at but I feel it's worth the money.
