Our first owned dog (not counting fosters) was an American Pit that we had from birth. Super healthy, not a thing wrong until ten years old. Then she got a recurring throat tumor and had $15,000+ in surgery the last two years of her life. Never again. Since then, any pet we've owned has been insured. Fosters we didn't need, so it had been a while since I had to do this insurance thing. Lol.
