If you do a search for grooming here, you'll find a wonderful tutorial on how to groom yorkies. You can also search on youtube for tips.
I'd recommend you touching/playing with his paws to get him used to you handling them. Many dogs usually hates pawdicures. If you want to keep him in a puppy/summer cut, you'd have to get good clippers.
