I can only answer your question about females fighting or getting along. I had an unspayed female when she was 3 y/o I came home with an un-planned 8 week old female puppy. My 3 y/o wasn't sure what momma came home with. It was a bouncy, furry thing that made silly yapping noise and had lots of Sharpe teeth. So the older one took to the hills, the sofa, until she could figure out what this thing was. When the puppy was able to jump on and off the sofa (about 6 to 8 weeks later 3 1/2 to 4 months old they were not tiny babies) my older one had no choice but to accept the new comer. I also did not have the 2nd one spayed. So now I have 2 unspayed females. These girls never fought, not even when one of them came into season, not even as much as a growl. When the 2nd one was 3 y/o and my older one was 6 y/o again I came home with an un-planned for 8 week old puppy, another female. Again, older ones confused with what did momma bring home today, and off to the safety of the sofa. Again when the baby was able to jump on and off the sofa the 2 older ones had to accept her, the 3rd one I had spayed. Now I had 3 females, 2 not spayed, one spayed. Never did they fight, there was never any jealousy between them. I paper trained my puppies first, then house broke them, all 3 were trained the same way. the first 2 were left alone unsupervised when that puppy was 100 % paper trained, puppy was 5 months old, same with the 3rd puppy, she was also 5 months old and 100 % paper trained when she was left with the 2 older ones unsupervised. They all got along beautifully.
