I just insured my 8 year old with Pet's Best. Some companies have a cut off and you can only get accident insurance, but you can insure them.
People telling the OP to save $10/month is a good idea, BUT if the dog gets sick and needs intensive care, it could be thousands. At $10/month, I don't see her amassing enough to cover an emergency.
I think insurance is the best answer here...and, as someone suggested, it might have to be in her parent's names. |
I have a PERFECT example of why Ins is so important. Remember Marcel's foxtail in his nose issue? Well, his nasal congestion (intermittent, but severe) continued...I had to put him under again, they found nothing. Congestion continues and now we're talking about a freakin' MRI/CAT Scan as the probable next step -- which will be incredibly expensive, however, it will be paid for by insurance. ALL this expense, for one measly little piece of foxtail inhaled into one nostril.
