The funny thing is, Sophie is only 8lbs....so that makes her a whopping 1lb over show limit and someone thinks she cannot be a Yorkie? Granted, she is only 5mths old, but her growth has slowed down considerably so I don't think she will get much bigger. Our Maltese' were always on the larger size also, being 12lbs at their prime (breed averages are 5-7lbs). My Bailey (Maltese/Shih Zhu mix) is 11lbs and her parents were 6 and 8lbs. We just grow them big in our house. |
