Have you looked on petfinder.com & checked your local shelters? I don't now what it's like where you are, but I know in my area you can't rely on the shelters web sites, you have to go in person. In my area, by the time a yorkie is listed on the shelter web site, it's already been adopted. I've found that I have better luck checking in person at least once a week.
