In our library we have quite a few informative articles. There are quite a few threads here on Insurance.

I have Trupanion Breeders Insurance. As this is the only company that actually offers Breeders Insurance, plus they do cover genetic defects I went with them.

I do not have coverage for dental, or a wellness plan. But I do have riders that provide for certain state of the art treatments and also rehabilitative care.

I do think it is important to get insurance when your puppy is young and has not been diagnosed with a pre-existing condition (yet). I think that it is worthwhile to get one that covers genetic defects. Surgery for LP and Liver Shunt is very expensive, and if your pup does suffer from either one or both, that insurance will pay for itself very quickly.
