I haven't used either, but I looked on Royal Canin's website. I also looked at other websites for product overviews.

Renal LP says the following:
Complete and balanced diet to assist the nutritional management of late stage III/IV chronic kidney disease in small and medium breed adult dogs (< 55 lbs).

Renal MP says the following:

Royal Canine Renal MP Modified Can for Dogs is a complete and balanced diet to assist the nutritional management of early stage I/II chronic kidney disease in small and medium breed adult dogs (< 55 lbs) and for the management of all stages of kidney disease in large and giant breed adult dogs (> 55 lbs)

I hope a change in diet helps your baby.
