 Trifexis Overdose?
I have 3 dogs.....2 yorkies (3.9lbs & 5.5lbs) and 1 Maltese (7.5lbs). I recently took my 5.5 lb yorkie to the vet for excessive itchy red skin and she thought it may be flea related. So she sent me home with Trifexis, prednisone and antibiotics. I have always given my dogs the same flea medication as well as the heartgard....now the trifexis encompasses the heartgard so it's all neatly packaged in one tablet. I gave the trifexis separately to each of my dogs with some canned food as I know they can vomit after these pills so it helps to take it with food. I just realized that the package says for 5-10lb dogs. I am worried about my little yorkie thinking that this dosage might be too toxic for him? I gave it to all of them a couple of hours ago and they all seem fine. It being Sunday, the vet office is closed. Any advise? Has anyone else given the trifexis to a dog smaller than albs? |
