Default gOD I love Summer- Whats on tonight

All the fresh berries and vegetables. Scrumptious. The green and yellow beans this year are fantastic, the asparagus not so much (woody stems).

Just made a strawberry short cake Strawberries are very good this year - tender juicy and sweet.
Will make with the left over strawberries a compote and freeze some compote.

Old fashion favourite - Scalloped Potatoes - or Gourmet name Potate Dauphoinse. Made with cream And I love my mandolin, so fast to get same size slices! 2.5 lbs Potatoes 3/4 of c of Gruyere cheese 1/8 tsp of fresh ground nutmeg 3 cloves garlic minced s&P to taste. I also add thinly sliced Vidalia onion The trick is to steep the potatoe slices in the cream, and then bring to a gentle boil for 5minutes. Then bake in oven 375 deg for 40-45 minutes. A creamy delicise favourite. I will top with fresh minced parsley. Then serve.

On the BBQ is a marinated leg of lamb butterflied. It has been marinating over night in one bottle of beer, thinly sliced ginger, 8 dashes of worchestshire sauce, s&p. Then I will encrust it with an asiago and parmeson with panko crumbs and apply a Dijon mustard with ground almonds, and 1/3 cup kalamato olives diced very fine crust

With the meal will be a watercress/sliced cucumber salad with roasted red peppers drizzled with a tarragon vinagerette dressing.

And after all of that we shall take the doggies for a long walk so we 2 leggers can walk of dinner
