In my younger years I raised Bloodhounds and also owned and showed English Cockers. Anyone buying a purebred puppy should spend a lot of time investigating the breeder. The price guarantees NOTHING, reputable breeders often place pups or dogs to what they know is a good home. Breeding puppies properly is not a big financial gain and if you count the time you spent watching, caring, cleaning etc. you would be minus financially.
I am so glad I found Yorkietalk because there do seem to be so many things I did not know about Yorkies. I just knew I loved their looks and wonderful smart, spunky personalities. My breeder has done everything in her power to educate me. Long before bringing Buttons home she had me visit her dogs and talked and talked. I wasn't allowed to even touch her until after her first vaccine. Because the breeder is responsible I have had nothing but wonderful fun experience with my new pup. Also because Buttons is smaller than I expected the breeder would not accept a dime until I signed a contract that she would be spayed. I only wanted a healthy pet anyway and would not consider not spaying or neutering a pet animal.
I hope person buying a pup remains a member of this site for their puppy's sake there is so much knowledge here. |
