I agree that you should focus on the potty training right now. Do you have him sleeping in a crate at night? I would have him sleep in your room in a his crate so he can see you to make him feel more safe. The first couple nights Lexi whined, but now she still sleeps in her crate every night with no problem. She sleeps much better when she is in the same room as me. Just make sure you don't give in to the whining and take him out or he will continue to do it. It's hard, but well worth it in the end.
