This is interesting in many ways. In my area there are several large/huge medical facilities who welcome therapy dogs EXCEPT those who are fed raw. The epidemiologists have determined that while salmonella is not a huge problem for most dogs, it is for humans and especially children, ill and well, and therefor they take that stand. I personally talked with them and irregardless about your feeding preference the research is significant. It is not just the dogs it is also about the dog handler who handle/feed the food who's hands they sampled in several of the studies. It is felt it is just to risky for exposure for ill people.
I'm not pro or con, I just found this to be very interesting.
