Thank you for posting this - I have stopped worrying about the plopping down and I just pick him up and carry him for a while. Also I'm using the opportunity to try "Ziggy come!" after he has sat a bit and to my delight he usually runs to me so I can praise him and love on him.

I'm surprised at how much he understands. I think he may even be starting to sort of let me know when he wants out. Such a smart puppy!
