Ooh, Ziggy looks like he's going to be a spectacular teapot! You should apply for the secret society later on!

For walks, your pup will usually lay down is he's tired on them. In the middle of summer that's not so far fetched if you're going out sometime between 10AM - 6PM or so. I didn't start taking Cook out on walks until 16 or 17 weeks, whichever was one week after her fourth round of puppy shots. But at that age they take lots of naps and have short bursts of energy. For a while I could get a guaranteed nap after a walk, but now at 15 months she still wants to play after that same walk.

The best way I got her ready for walks was training her on the leash in the back yard. It was also a good way to train potty commands at the same time.
