You cant prevent the mites all dogs have them. To get mange the dogs immune system gets down and the mites rapidly reproduce and that causes the mange. I dont see anything wrong with giving an immune system booster though. I love the name Boogie Man it reminds me of that old KC and the Sunshine Band song. I think your doing a really good job caring for Boogie Man
