The easiest way I have found is using that cheese in a can stuff. I just spray a dab on my finger and shove the pill in it. That stuff is so popular with my dogs they remember the last time they had to take a pill and they all crowd around for a bite. Of course if I had a dog that was on medication every day I would use a pill popper or canned dog food. They really don't need that cheese that often. Other things I have found that work are ranch dressing
and raw meat or cooked chicken
I think you shouldn't let him think his pill is a treat though. That is going to make him distrust you and could eventually be a training problem as a treat isn't that big a deal anymore.
