Several of my dogs are on meds for various issues and I work in a vet clinic so I give A LOT of meds.

Some of the things I've found that work the best are cheese, hot dogs, cream cheese, canned dog food made into a meatball (we do this a lot at the clinic) and peanut butter. Peanut butter works really well if you have a dog that finds the pill in the food and spits the pill out. (I have a Standard Poodle that does this and I swear he does it because he knows he'll get something else to eat). I've also made my own pill pockets out of flour, milk and peanut butter. I found the recipe online and they're WAY cheaper than what you can buy in the store or from your vet. The recipe is 1 tablespoon milk, 1 tablespoon peanut butter and 2 tablespoons flour. I roll them into balls and then use the end of a butter knife to make an indent for the pill then lay them out on a cookie sheet until they stiffen up some and then store in the fridge in a tupperware container. The dogs love them.
