Could be the beginning of pyoderma (staph intermedius infection common in dogs....like s.aureus for us) - if so, it will likely spread or you'll notice it locally in other areas of his body. You may want to put some antibiotic cream on the areas as it may make it go away. If it's pyoderma, it's usually treated w/ Simplicef x 30 days.
