Dogs communicate through alot of body language, as well as vocal. There was also a study that showed that dogs will read people's facial expressions and they do this only to humans, not with other dogs. She's focused on you and is trying to "read" you. So you're not too far off in your assumption of mind reading I find alot of times in the past, they really understand what you're saying/doing at times. We used to announce bath-time to our past yorkies and they would hide. We stopped doing that and just pick one up. When they see we go to the bathroom with them or they come back wet, the other hides lol
