Animal Smiley 019 My Yorkie's Diabetes Doesnt Seem to be Regulated

My 8 yr old Yorkie, Winston was diagnosed with Diabetes and high enzymes in liver must 3 months ago. He's had 4 glucose curves, and his sugars were high in ea of them. (500-675) After 3 curves, vet still wouldnt increase his insulin, so I changed to a different vet.

New vet just increased his insulin from 2 to 3 units on the last curve. Im giving him 2 injections a day; 3 meals a day; changed his diet from the hi-end merrick/blue/wellness canned to boneless, skinless chicken breast, mixed with sm amount of veggies, and sometimes grain or couple of spoons of canned merrick added. Everything he eats is very low fat now(below 8%).

Even though he's on the insulin (Novalin N), he is still peeing all over the house, as he walks. He still drinks excessive water and he is always hungry. I cannot afford to keep doing Glucose Curves. He also has this horrible smell to his gas, all of the time. Has anyone had similar problems with their Yorkie?

I worry that he may be eating too much protein(I may be confused about Keytones and odor), but if he eats more grain, his sugar will be higher and veggies will give him diarrea. Can anyone share their experiences... Oh, he has been going blind now, for last 2 weeks. Trying to do all the right things here.
