It's hard to say how it will go as each dog is different. Our Wylie does great, but Marcel HATES that carrier and we have to tranq him w/ Ace in order to fly. I always bring along wipes, pee pad, treats/food, Benadryl, Ace, towel, water etcetera. Some flight attendants will let you take them out, even though they're not supposed to...so don't assume it's okay.
Planes are often cool, however, down by your feet they can also be quite HOT and stuffy - so I put a cooling bag of gel under their pad they're laying on.
For carriers, I like Celltei.
