I hope there is a positive explanation for the weight gain. Is she eating better than she was before her surgery? I know with liver shunt dogs, they often struggle to gain weight and develop. Once the shunt is taken care of, I believe they tend to start eating better and gaining.
You are a great mom for staying on top of this. Praying the doctors can find the cause of her hard, bloated belly quickly and give her relief.
