A heating pad is the perfect solution for puppies, even for a singleton. We give them 'heated room' leaving the heat pad ocupying half of the bed space ( I ilke to keep it safe under the bed, no risk of burning ) and half of the bed is not heated. We clearly see puppies coming and going to and from the heated area as they need it. I live this set up up to 6 weeks or more . New England gets unpredictable weather and I often observe older puppies, 5 to 6 weeks old, seeking the warm side of the bed. For me is sign that they still need some extra heat.
