Aren't they usually toads and not frogs if away from the water? I don't know if you have the Texas toad in Houston like we do near San Antonio, but if so, watch out because they're venomous. Not anywhere near as bad as the Cane toad like Meika bit into
but they are still very bad news for small dogs like yorkies. Not every toad in Texas is poisonous though. I don't think you have Cane toads in the Houston area, but they're in the Rio Grande Valley south all the way into South America, they're in Florida, Hawaii, I believe Australia, and I think parts of the US Gulf Coast.
