Because of the fact that she was spayed prior to her first heat her risk is 0.5%, those spayed after one estrous cycle have 8.0% of the risk, and dogs spayed after two estrous cycles have 26.0% of the risk of developing mammary neoplasia later in life. Overall, unspayed female dogs have a seven times greater risk of developing mammary neoplasia than do those that are spayed.

Personally, I feel very comfortable having spayed young. Also there is the retained puppy teeth issue that many Yorkies have that need to be removed. This is usually done during a spay/neuter since they will be under anesthesia anyway. Of course, be sure to do preop blood works.
I am so glad to see your response as you have answer so many questions that I had. My little Sophie is scheduled to be spayed in mid July and she will have just turned 9 months at that time. The vet will also be removing the remaining puppy teeth she still has. Can you tell me when Yorkie's come into their first season. They will also be doing the pre-op blood work. I hope she does not go in season before we get her spayed. Sophie is 4.6 lbs and I worry about her being put to sleep but it is something that she needs to have done so we will proceed forward...
