As previously mentioned, in my opinion Royal Canin kibble is an excellent dried food - Harry's weird and hated the canned though!
When he was Ben's age, we tried him on Lily's Kitchen wet food (organic, holistic etc) which he absolutely adored Natural and Organic Dog Food and Cat Food | Lily's Kitchen. He ate that until I decided to home cook for him.

Good morning, I am going to get some Royal Canin food today and see how he goes on with it. I am retired and would have the time to home cook for Ben. I am 69 yrs. old and don`t know why I didn`t have a dog before, I have always had cats rabbits and guinea pigs. Until now he`s only interested in eating fresh boiled chicken so would be interested in what you cook for your dog.
