Axel, the Yorkie is 3 so he was already at the previous owner's house when Bree came along (she is 1) but he was not the first dog at that house.. They had 3 older Maltese that were there first.
Here is the funny thing... usually Bree, the maltese is dominant over Axel. He lets her eat first.. as far as treats.. whoever sits first when I tellthem to gets the treat, but Bree has grabbed both and went running and Axel let her! I had to get it back from her. Sometimes when Axel is up on the couch with me and bree wants me all her to herself, she will bark at him until he gets down.. so he seems to let her lead in everything except for he nips people.. I do keep him on a leash.. but like the lst time, I had a friend's little girl over (11) . I told her to stay in the other room. she wasn't talking or anything. I had to let axel outside, so I let him out of the cage and was putting his leash on him when he ran away from me into the kitchen and nipped the 11 year old for no reason
