My girl stopped eating her dry food by itself after she got to taste people food. She does eat the dry food if something is mixed in. I never give her scraps, it's always cooked separately just for her. I think if your dogs eat their dry food fine and if you don't want to always have to feed people food with the dry food then don't give it. I always gave the people food together with the dry food so that might be a possibility of why my girl associated dry food with people food, though.
