I've been calling her Dutch (short for Duchess) until I can figure out a name for her. OMG she is so sweet and smart. I've been keeping her tied to me in the house until she is potty trained and she is already starting to get the hang of it. I take her to the potty pad and say potty...it takes her awhile but she will potty. She will potty outdoors and indoors.
Her previous owner sent me a text wanting to know how she was doing. She said didn't realized how much her and her son would miss her. I told her she was more than welcome to call or text me now or in the future to see how she was doing.
One thing I am definitely nipping in the bud right now is her reaction to my cat. That's the one thing I am not at all happy about. Whenever she looks like she is going in to attack mode, I put a stop to even before it get's started. If she disobeys my command, I put her in her expen. She has to learn to allow my cat to walk around freely without the fear of a surprise attack. I don't think it's a serious attack more like a playful attack. But my cat is older and I don't want her to feel that she is can no longer to walk freely around the house. Right now she walks very cautiously and I don't want her to have that anxiety. I am working on that but this little girl learns quickly so I am hoping to break her out of that real soon. |
