I would take him out later. Even Jackson, at 5 years old, will need to go out again if I only let him out at 8 or 8:30pm. He will usually have to go again around 11-midnight before bed (usually I am still up watching TV so that makes a difference too). So I try to time things right. I'll let him out for a potty break usually after we eat dinner, so I'd say 7ish. Then he doesn't get let out again until between 10:30-midnight depending and then that's his last potty break for the night.
