Default 5 Month Old Yorkie with High Bile Acid Tests

Good morning everyone,

I have an almost 6 month Yorkie named Roxy who when we went to get her spayed they said they couldn't perform the surgery as her blood test, specifically liver test, came back high. They sent out more blood for bile acid test and it still came back high. They believed a shunt.

We went for a second opinion and those test came back high also.
Today she is having an ultrasound to see if there is an obvious shunt.
Still waiting for results.

Roxy is gaining weight, extremely active and perfect. She doesn't stare at walls after she eats etc.

They said if the u/s doesn't show a shunt, we can move forward with the spaying and at the time, take a piece of the liver to biopsy.

Has anyone had this happen?? What was your experience??

Thanks!
