Default Interdigital Cyst or worse?

Hi Everyone,

My 3 year old boy had this bump show up a week ago (Satruday night) between his toes on his front left paw (see photo). It was somewhat hard (not rock hard, but definitely not soft) and a perfect round dome shape.I took him into the vet as soon as I could get an appointment (Monday) and they said it was either a cyst or some sort of tumor. Of course the only way to know was to do a biopsy. Initially they tried to draw a sample with a needle and get some results right away, but due to the fact that the bump was so close to his paw pads it was extremely sensitive and he wouldn't behave.

The vet recommended that he be put under general anaesthesia so they could get a sample. I booked the appointment for the following morning (Tuesday). They actually ended up removing the entire lump and sent it off to the lab. It was a very clean removal, other than the little stitch you wouldn't know it was there to begin with. The doctor who performed the surgery feels that due to his age, the shape and colour of the lump that it is a Interdigital Cyst. Of course we won't know for sure until the biopsy results come back. I'm just scared this is some sort of malignant growth. The results were supposed to be in Friday but now I am stuck waiting over the weekend

Has anyone dealt with anything similar and if so what was the outcome? I am going crazy here.

Thanks in advance.
