I would first like to thank you for taking this baby in that someone didn't want, maybe it was because they could not house break him, some ppl will just toss a dog out for this reason, they feel a pedigree dog will find a home faster. I know your boy is 2 y/o, but this is how I trained my 4(I didn't have 4 at the same time it was always a new baby every 3 years) puppies AFTER they were 100% paper trained age 5 months old (there were no wee wee pads then lol) Every morning at 7:30AM I walked them, even tho they didn't make I was consistent with the walking time. I also worked, came home at 4PM, walked them again. It took 2 weeks of walking with them not doing anything but sniffing every inch of their 30 minute walk. Week 3 they started to pee and poop, in the middle of the street, like a nut, I did the happy dance, clapped my hands, picked them up, kissed, hugged, and praise, praise, praise, at 7 months old they were 100 house broken. They were given a 30 min. walk at 7:30AM again at 4:30PM and at 10PM I would just take them curb side for their last pee pee, then it was bed time. Walk time must be the same time every day, rain, snow, sleet, consistency is the KEY WORD. If he makes or not, time of walk must be consistent, it will take more time because he is older, but dogs are creatures of habit. I have my first male, I adopted him 6 months ago, he is now 3 y/o old and neutered, I have his medical papers from prev. owner, he was neutered as a puppy, he squats when he makes pee pee, no making. I know his marking in the house is extremely frustrating, but it is fixable, he can be taught to potty outside, that is your job, but, it has to be consistent, even on a day when you are sick or the weather is bad. If you do not work walk him 3 times a day, 2 times if you work, and a fast pee pee just before you go to bed. Please do not give up on him, no matter how much hair you are pulling out of your head, it is fixable, you will need a lot of patience, the reward will be an over whelming amount of love from a very awesome breed. He needs you.
