We have the same problem here. We moved from a "neighbourhood" (as much as a neighbourhood you can get here) to a little spot somewhat out of town when Chloe was almost one. This place is surrounded by trees so in the summer its really bad for birds, squirrels ect. My dad added a deck on to the second floor of the house and made sure he made it puppy friendly. She cant run off after squirrels, and not many animals can get up (shes usually just out and in anyway, except if someones out there with her). Squirrels have attempted to climb it but we are always watching her so they never manage to get up. For the back of the house (almost all forest) we dont let her go out unless someones out there with her and even then shes always on a leash.
