Good advice has been given. I also would walk them together on separate leads one on each side of me.
I would spend 10 minutes a day with each one, individually training one, while the other observes. If you can keep one in a cool shadey spot, tied up to a tree in say your backyard, then do the standard obedience commands with the other, plus a short play time with that dog; then they switch positions.
Keep positive in your thoughts that this can all be worked out; how-ever as LadyJane has said there are the occasional situations where nothing can be worked out.
