Our garage is not air conditioned, it is underground partially so it never gets above 80 in there. We do heat the garage because a lot of our plumbing leaves the house via the garage. We live in a town house or as some areas call it a row house. It is probably as large as most homes, has 4 levels with the top level being my office and Sophie Kates bedroom (small room with her crate and stuff). Main floor and third level is the main area for living and bedrooms. Bottom level is a office/bedroom (or in my case the man cave/storm area) and the garage which is 2.5 car space using the .5 for my "woman cave".

The small basement area which is the same level as the garage, does have air conditioning but again because it underground we rarely turn on that zone.

I do have one of those stand alone air conditioning units, it's a Haier LOVE that thing (got it when the AC went out in the upper level). I have used it in the garage before when it was really humid and I was painting.
