If she likes her crate I say don't change it. You both will sleep better and she will be safer. I don't know how small she is but she can roll off or you can roll over her. I have a larger one who sleeps with us and he fine but he is 14 lbs right now. My smaller one I have crate trained and sleeps on the night stand beside my bedside. I do it that way to keep him safe because of his size.
